Antigua, pronounced An-Tee-Ga, is an Island in the West Indies, in the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean region.

It’s not just a vacation – it’s an experience!

The islands circumference is roughly 87 km (54mi) and its area is 821 Km2 (108 sq mi).  Its population is estimated at 86,754.  The country relies mainly on tourism, with the agricultural sector serving the domestic market.

The capital city of Antigua is St. John’s.  The capital is situated in the north-west and has a deep harbour which is able to accommodate large cruise ships.

The country’s official currency is the East Caribbean dollar.  However, many prices in the tourist-oriented business are shown in US dollars.

The major Antiguan sport is cricket.  Sir Vivian (“Viv”) Richards is one of the most famous Antiguan, who played for and captained the West Indies team.  Being surrounded by water, sailing has been one of the most popular sports for years with the Antigua Sailing week and Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta. The island is bordered by the Atlantic and Caribbean oceans.

What Our Guests Say

  • "While Seatons may be a bit remote, it makes for an excellent base to explore the island. The inn is VERY tidy with good amenities and the service is outstanding. The owners can provide you with a rental car for a very good price and go out of their way to make you feel welcome and help in organizing whatever you may need. Excellent choice for a couple on a budget from Germany. Stayed December 2013- Trip Advisor."

  • "On very short notice, I decided to go to Antigua for 4 days by myself. I generally avoid the large resorts and prefer cozy, friendly places with real people. Ellen Bay Inn was perfect for me, even traveling by myself. Louie picked me up at the airport, and Genivive cooked me two wonderful evening meals and light breakfasts. One day I rented a bike and rode it to Devils Bridge. Another day I took the public bus into St. Johns. My room was simple but quite comfortable. The A/C really works well, and the free WiFi is tops. If you do not have to stay right on the beach, and you do not want the usual all-inclusive tourist place, this small inn is great."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the whole family has been so helpful and welcoming. They could not have done enough for us. The food was delicious and anything we wanted to eat was made and fabulous. The room and bathroom was clean and had everything we needed. Would recommend to everyone and would love to return one day. Thank you for everything."
